I didn’t always know that this is what I’d be doing. But in hindsight, it was always unfolding.
From the time I was a little girl, I was drawn to learning — not just for myself, but to teach what I knew to others. I used to rush home from kindergarten, turn on our family's overhead projector, and teach my little sister everything I’d just learned.
It wasn’t just a game — it was my way of creating connection, meaning, and purpose.
I pursued education with intensity and reverence. My mother, who grew up in a town in Mexico and had to stop school at 14 to care for her siblings, filled our home with books and a longing for learning. I carried her dreams — and my own — all the way to a Master’s in Education and a full-time teaching career.
But even with the degrees, the accolades, and the structure… something in me was aching.
I saw how school rewarded certain types of intelligence — and ignored others.
How it praised performance, but overlooked creativity and curiosity.
How even I, a passionate teacher, felt isolated and unsupported in the very system I had dedicated my life to.
In 2018, I did something radical: I walked away. Mid-school year. Mid-career. Mid-identity.
I didn’t have a plan — only a knowing that I couldn’t keep ignoring the quiet voice inside.
Therapy. Coaching. Healing. Writing.
I published my first book, Bittersweet Belonging, in 2022. It was raw, vulnerable, and the beginning of my rebirth.
That same year, I started Viva Your Vision — my way of helping other women find, claim, and share their stories through online courses that feel like them.
Not just “products.” Not just checklists or webinars.
But portals of healing, connection, and legacy.
